Colts Vs. Bears Game Recap: Andrew Luck's Debut Spoiled In 41-21 Loss

Indianapolis's prized No. 1 overall pick Andrew Luck came up short in his first career NFL game on Sunday, as Chicago's Jay Cutler racked up 333 yards through the air in a 41-21 Bears victory.

Cutler carved up an overmatched Colts secondary for a number of big plays in the win. After shaking off an early interception, the veteran signal caller found both Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall on touchdown passes.

Although Luck finished his debut with 309 yards and a touchdown pass, the Stanford rookie was intercepted three times by Chicago defenders and struggled to adjust to the rush. Luck ended the day with a 52.9 quarterback rating and a 51.1 completion percentage, and will surely hope to bounce back against the Vikings in Week 2.

The big winner: Jay Cutler

Aside from having an interception returned for a touchdown pass early in the game, Cutler was firing passes through seams in the Colts defense all day long. He dropped what amounted to a 55-yard bomb into the lap of rookie receiver Alshon Jeffery for a beautiful touchdown pass to clinch the game, and truly looks poised to topple the 4,000-yard plateau for the first time in a Bears uniform in 2012.

What's up next:

Luck and company will attempt to regroup against a rejuvinated Adrian Peterson and the Vikings, while Cutler will march his undefeated Bears into Lambeau for a Thursday Night Football date with the Packers.
