The New York Jets put their offensive woes seen in the preseason behind them, as the offense exploded in a 48-28 win over the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium.
The Jets jumped out to a 41-7 lead, before a late run by the Bills came up short.
Box Score Hero: Mark Sanchez
Mark Sanchez's performance will be viewed under a microscope in 2012, but in Week 1, he looked like a legitimate starting option. He completed 19-of-27 passes for 266 yards and 3 touchdowns. If the team continues to get big performances out of him, their chances of seeing success in 2012 will be greater.
Fred Jackson Injured
In his first game since undergoing knee surgery in 2011, Bills running back Fred Jackson hurt his knee again in the second quarter and didn't return.
He will undergo an MRI on Monday.
Tebow Time
Tim Tebow made his regular-season debut for the Jets when he saw action running out of the team's wildcat formation. He had five carries for 11 yards in what was a limited role.
