Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton was hit hard in the fourth quarter while playing the Seattle Seahawks and immediately went down to the ground. It appeared he took a shot in the stomach area and landed awkwardly. He remained down as team trainers came to check on him, eventually being helped up and placed on a cart.
A report from University of Phoenix Stadium said Skelton suffered an ankle injury, although that is unconfirmed from the team at this point. He is currently being evaluated by team doctors.
Kevin Kolb, who was beaten out by Skelton in the preseason for the starting quarterback job, began warming up on the sidelines and is now in the game. The Cardinals currently lead the Seahawks 20-16 late in the fourth quarter.
