The Seattle Seahawks offensive line might have suffered a significant loss when Russell Okung went down in the final two-minute drive for the Seahawks. Okung went down to the ground midway through the drive and had to limp off the field. Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times reports the Okung injury was originally believed to be an ankle issue, but has now apparently become a knee problem. Head coach Pete Carroll remains mum on the severity of the injury.
This is Okung's third significant injury. Okung had ankle injuries in 2010, then tore his pectoral muscle near the end of the 2011 season and was placed on injured reserve. Okung's backup at offensive tackle is Frank Omiyale, as he's listed as the primary backup at tackle on either side of the line. Omiyale was signed by the Seahawks this offseason after being released by the Chicago Bears.
