Andy Reid reportedly to interview for Cardinals job Thursday

Reid is the reported top target for the Cardinals as they search for a new head coach.

Former Eagles coach Andy Reid will interview with the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, according to a tweet from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. The Cardinals are in the process of finding a new head coach after firing Ken Whisenhunt earlier in the week.

Reid, 54, was let go of by the Eagles on Monday. He had been with Philadelphia since the 1999 season and led the team to a Super Bowl appearance in 2004. Known as an offensive guru around the league, Reid could bring life into a Cardinals offensive attack that has lacked punch for the past few seasons.

It is unclear as of Tuesday night just how much interest the two parties have in each other. Some reports indicated that Reid is the heavy favorite to land the job, while others suggest the Cardinals are still considering many options for the head coaching gig.

Chip Kelly of the Oregon Ducks has also been a popular candidate in the Glendale area, as have various others from around the league.
