Ken Whisenhunt will reportedly head out to San Diego to interview for the Chargers' head coaching position on Saturday.
Ken Whisenhunt is set to interview with the San Diego Chargers for their head coaching vacancy this Saturday, according to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Here's Acee's tweet on the matter:
Looks like Ken Whisenhunt will follow Lovie Smith to San Diego. Ex-AZ coach to interview Saturday. He has long eyed job.

As Acee alludes to, former Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith will reportedly speak with the Chargers a day before Whisenhunt does the same. The ex-Arizona Cardinals head coach was also reportedly a top candidate for the Cleveland Browns head coaching job, but that was before Cleveland hired former Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski on Thursday.
Whisenhunt was fired by the Cardinals on Dec. 31, 2012, after a season in which Arizona dropped 11 of their final 12 games of the regular season after a promising 4-0 start, finishing at 5-11. He led the Cardinals to Super Bowl XLIII in 2008, where they fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
