Following a dramatic playoff win over the Denver Broncos to continue Ray Lewis' ride into the sunset, Baltimore Ravens fans are a bit excited about their football team. Are the Ravens suddenly a team of destiny?
Saturday's game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Denver Broncos clearly won the day in terms of sheer excitement. Things got really wild (not that they weren't before) when a pseudo-Hail Mary briefly exploded the SB Nation blog Baltimore Beat Down and sent the game into overtime. From there, both teams traded punts until a Chykie Brown interception changed momentum for good. Rookie kicker Justin Tucker belted a 47-yard field goal for the win, completing arguably the most improbable comeback and most memorable game of the 2013 NFL Playoffs so far.
Factor in the theatrics with Ray Lewis' swan song playoff run, and you have what was one of the most emotionally charged games of the 2012-13 NFL season. Just ask Zachary Beard, editor at Baltimore Beat Down, how important the win over Peyton Manning and Co. was to Baltimore. Note: He doesn't seem too concerned about the Ravens' upcoming opponents.
What this win means to me and the entire Baltimore Ravens franchise can not be understood by anyone else other than those associated with the Ravens! My heart is still beating and I could not be happier than I am right now. Be sure to tune into the Patriots/Texans game tomorrow to see who we're going to beat next in our journey to the Super Bowl.
This is your ecstatic editor, Zachary Beard signing out from South Carolina. I love you all, and GO RAVENS!!!
The chance for a rematch of last year's AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots should have football fans very excited.
