Gaining yards in bunches, the Seattle Seahawks haven't had a answer in the first half.
The Atlanta Falcons continue to attack the middle of the field, both through the air and on the ground. As a result, the Seattle Seahawks find themselves in a hole, losing by a score of 20-0 with just over seven minutes remaining in the first half.
Of their five drives, only one hasn't resulted in a score, a product of a Matt Ryan interception. Gaining 268 total yards with time remaining in the first half, the vaunted Seahawks' defense has been unable to handle a steady rushing attack, and Atlanta's play action passes.
WIth help from some big runs by Jacquizz Rodgers, the passing game for the Falcons is moving the ball effectively. On their last touchdown, Roddy White broke a huge play, catching a 45-yard pass from Ryan for a touchdown. The Seahawks have been unable to respond.
Both teams are getting their yards, but the Falcons have displayed a "bend, don't break" philosophy. In remains to be seen if Seattle can make a difference, but this hole could be too big to dig out of.
