Bears coaching search: Darrell Bevell, Marc Trestman finalists

Ronald Martinez

The Bears are moving on in their coaching search, with Darrell Bevell and Marc Trestman are the first known finalists.

After already interviewing once, Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman will interview with Chicago again, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter. Bevell and Trestman are the first two candidates to be identified as finalists to replace Lovie Smith.

Bevell is scheduled to interview again on Tuesday. He is free to interview after the Seahawks were eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday. He gained notoriety this season for his work with rookie quarterback Russell Wilson. After a slow start, Bevell developed game plans to fit Wilson's skill set and the Seahawks offense quickly developed into one of the best offenses in the NFL.

Trestman shot down rumors last week that he had already gotten the Bears job, and will now go through a second interview. He has received plenty of NFL interest this off-season after a successful run in the Canadian Football League. Trestman has a 59-31 record since taking over the Alouettes.
