Super Bowl odds: Chip Kelly hiring boosts Eagles

After hiring Chip Kelly to be their next head coach, the Philadelphia Eagles' odds to win Super Bowl XLVIII increased.

Super Bowl XLVIII is over a year away, but Chip Kelly's impact has already shifted Super Bowl XLVIII's odds. Just days after saying he'd remain at Oregon, Kelly agreed to become the Philadelphia Eagles' new head coach.

Per Joe Fortenbaugh, Philadelphia's odds of winning next year's Super Bowl moved from 30-1 to 22-1 after hiring Kelly.

Conversely, Oregon's odds of winning next year's BCS title took a hit. With Kelly at the helm, Oregon was given 6-1 odds to capture the BCS title. Without Kelly, the Ducks are given 9-1 odds.

Kelly's decisions in the offseason will largely impact Super Bowl XLVIII's odds going forward. First and foremost, Kelly has to decide on a quarterback -- and it doesn't seem likely that Nick Foles fits his system.

The Eagles also hold the No. 4 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft -- prime draft position for Kelly's first-ever NFL Draft.

There's still a long way to go between now and Week 1 of the 2013 season, but Kelly's impact has already been felt in the NFL -- at least in Las Vegas.
