Something has to give on Sunday as the league's best home playoff team faces its best road playoff team.
The Patriots have been playing plenty of playoff home games in their run under head coach Bill Belichick, and they have taken advantage of their friendly confines better than any other franchise in NFL history. New England has compiled an .824 winning percentage at home in the playoffs, winning 13 of 17 games. That includes its victory over Baltimore in last season's AFC Championship.
However, Baltimore has its own dog in this statistical fight. The Ravens lay claim to the best playoff road winning percentage of all time by winning eight of their 13 games away from home. Baltimore is actually the only team in league history to have won more games on the road than they have lost in the postseason.
Both teams improved upon their league-best records last week. The Patriots took down the Houston Texans at home, while the Ravens went into Denver to stun the top-seeded Broncos in double overtime.
