Super Bowl XLVII is still two weeks away, which means the secondary ticket market is picking up steam. This is the case even though the participants are not set yet, with the conference title games set for this Sunday. The Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers kick off at 3:00 p.m., while the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens kick off at 6:30 p.m.
If you head over to TiqIQ's Super Bowl page, there are currently 1,628 tickets available, with that number constantly changing. There were fewer than 300 tickets a week ago, but as teams have been eliminated from the playoffs, more and more tickets have been placed on the market. I would imagine the Broncos stunning upset at the hands of the Ravens led to a minor flood of Super Bowl tickets.
As it currently stands, the cheapest ticket on TiqIQ comes in at $1,975, and sticks you pretty close to the top of the Superdome. The average price has dropped under $3,000 per ticket, but that is a highly volatile number.
The market for tickets is far ranging. TiqIQ has partnered with Primesport to provide some additional options. If you go to Primesport's Super Bowl page, you can find a few slightly less expensive options. Beyond that, you can check everywhere from the official NFL Ticket Exchange to the always entertaining Craiglist ads. It's always a roll of the dice, given the money involved, but if you want to go to the Super Bowl, there are always tickets available.
