According to ESPN Dallas, Cowboys defensive lineman Jay Ratliff was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
Cowboys defensive lineman Jay Ratliff was arrested Tuesday and charged with a DWI after crashing his pickup truck into an 18-wheeler in the early morning, according to ESPN Dallas' Calvin Watkins. There were no injuries.
Police arrived in the 2800 block of East State Highway 114 at 12:36 a.m. to investigate a crash. Police, according to Shemwell, upon an investigation of the crash, arrested Ratliff after allegedly determining he was intoxicated.
Ratliff spent some time in jail before being released on a $100,000 bond, Watkins reports.
This news comes just months after Cowboys defensive lineman Josh Brent was charged with involuntary manslaughter after crashing his car while intoxicated, killing teammate Jerry Brown.
Ratliff was a seventh-round pick in the 2005 NFL draft for the Cowboys and only missed two games from the '06 season through the '11 season. He missed the majority of the 2012 season, though, while dealing with a sports hernia. He was bonded out of Grapevine Jail on Tuesday morning.
