It looks like the fine folks who run the Chargers have taken notice to how solid the Giants' drafts have been lately.
New York Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross is officially in the mix to take over the San Diego Chargers' GM role, according to USA Today's Mike Garafolo.
Ross, who also is expected to interview for the vacancies with the Jets and Panthers, just finished his fifth season as scouting guru with the Giants.
As Bolts from the Blue's John Gennaro points out, San Diego's interest in Ross signals that they "intend to stick with the philosophy of building through the draft."
Other names of the Chargers' impressive list of potential candidates include 49ers director of player personnel Tom Gamble, Falcons assistant GM Dave Caldwell and Colts vice president of football operations Tom Telesco. The possibility of Telesco is doubly intriguing with the Chargers also being interested in Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians to fill their head coaching vacancy.
It's pretty clear at this point that the Chargers intend to bring in a new GM first but with the head coaching market being as competitive as ever, that hiring should come sooner rather than later.
