Texans vs Bengals score: Houston leads 3-0 after 1 quarter

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The Texans' defense has controlled the game so far.

Where has this Houston team been for the last month?

The Texans struck first against the Bengals on Saturday with a 48-yard field goal by Shayne Graham. Matt Schaub was 2-of-2 for 26 yards on the drive, which started at the Houston 4, and Arian Foster had three carries for 24 yards. Foster seemed to take the Texans down around the Bengals' 10-yard line but he just barely stepped out of bounds and it brought up 2nd-and-2 from Cincinnati's 30-yard line instead.

Houston was unable to get a first down and Graham gave them the 3-point lead.

The Bengals are known for their defense but it's the Texans that have ruled on that side of the ball thus far, holding Cincinnati to only 19 total net yards in the first quarter. Andy Dalton is 1-of-3 for -6 yards and J.J. Watt already has one sack. BenJarvus Green-Ellis had a 29-yard run that is basically all of the Bengals' offense so far.
