The Green Bay Packers will head west to take on the San Francisco 49ers Jan. 12 in the NFC Divisional playoff round. The game is set for an 8 p.m. start. The third-seed Packers defeated the sixth-seed Minnesota Vikings Saturday to continue the pursuit of their second Super Bowl title in three seasons.
The Packers easily handled Minnesota less than a week after dropping their regular season finale to the Vikings.
Green Bay opened the 2012 season against the 49ers. The Packers fell behind and were unable to mount enough of a comeback to overtake San Francisco. In that game, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 303 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. The 49ers rushed for 186 yards against Green Bay, including 112 from running back Frank Gore.
