The Browns have moved on from Chip Kelly, targeting a candidate from the CFL.

The Cleveland Browns will interview Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman on Tuesday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

While Trestman is currently in the CFL, the only league where he has head coaching experience, he has filled coordinator and position coach roles in the NFL and college football. Before joining the Alouettes, Trestman was the offensive coordinator for North Carolina State. His most recent NFL stop was with the Miami Dolphins as the team's quarterbacks coach.

The Browns were unable to land Chip Kelly, who decided to stay at Oregon, but have continued their aggressive search for a new coach. The team also interviewed Bill O'Brien and Doug Marrone, according to Adam Schefter.

Trestman joins Bruce Arians as the lead candidates for the Browns job. Cleveland's new owner, Jimmy Haslam, is also searching for a new general manager.
