Todd Haley rumors: Cardinals will interview Steelers OC

Jason Bridge-US PRESSWIRE

Even though his agent denied it, Todd Haley is interviewing with the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday, according to several reports.

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley is reportedly interviewing with the Arizona Cardinals after all. Earlier in the day, Haley's agent said Haley was happy in Pittsburgh and not interested in interviewing with the Cardinals, but numerous reports now say otherwise.

According to a report from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, Haley's agent Jerome Stanley said there would be no interview, but fellow Pittsburgh assistant coaches said Haley is interviewing in Arizona. Haley spent two seasons as Arizona's offensive coordinator and is reportedly well thought of by Cardinals ownership.

In addition to Haley, Arizona defensive coordinator Ray Horton, Denver offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and Cincinnati offensive coordinator Jay Gruden are other known candidates. Having served as the Chiefs head coach for three seasons, Haley is the only one of the four with NFL head coaching experience. Gruden was a head coach in the Arena Football League and United Football League.

Haley reportedly didn't want to interview in Arizona unless he felt he had a legitimate shot at winning the job.
