Everyone's favorite Madden cover athlete, running back Peyton Hillis, is looking for a spot on an NFL roster and was one of three running backs to reportedly earn a tryout with the New York Giants, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. Also working out for the Giants were running backs Danny Ware and Jeremy Wright.
With plenty of teams holding early week tryouts, the team that was most active was the Seattle Seahawks, bringing in six linebackers for tryouts. Tavares Gooden, Larry Grant, Josh Hull, D.J. Holt, Tyrone McKenzie and Mike Taylor were all brought in by the team, although Hull is expected to join the Washington Redskins.
Also active were the New England Patriots, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, who are each looking to fill gaps. The Patriots tried out a pair of defensive lineman, Frank Kearse and George Johnson, while the Packers tried out a pair of linebackers, Demetrius Hartsfield and Justin Staples. The Lions brought in three tight ends, including Kyle Adams and Daniel Fells, but elected to sign Doris Dickerson.
