NFL picks and predictions 2013, Chiefs vs. Titans

Jamie Squire

The Chiefs are 4-0 and the majority of NFL writers expect them to remain undefeated.

After four impressive wins to open the season, the Kansas City Chiefs are one of five undefeated teams left in the NFL. They'll be tested with a tough road contest against the 3-1 Titans this week, although most NFL writers expect Kansas City to come away with another win.

Six of the eight NFL writers at CBS Sports picked the Chiefs to win in Nashville. Senior columnist Pete Prisco and NFL writer Josh Katzowitz were the only two who picked the Titans. The bad news for Tennessee is Prisco and Katzowitz have two of the worst records for picking games this season.

Kansas City opened as a 2-1/2-point favorite and even when picking against the spread, the same six writers still took the Chiefs. Tennessee has played well this season, but will be without starting quarterback Jake Locker this week due to a hip injury. Locker's absence could be one of the reasons most are favoring the Chiefs.

The CBS Sports writers aren't the only ones picking Kansas City, all five of SB Nation's NFL writers predicted the Chiefs to win this week.

Even if Locker were healthy, the Chiefs would still likely be the popular pick. Kansas City has outplayed Tennessee in most statistical categoreis this season, including a significant edge on defense. The Chiefs are allowing a touchdown per game less than the Titans.
