New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been cleared to play on Sunday against the New York Jets, but his status for the game is still up in the air, according to Pro Football Talk.
Gronkowski hasn't played a game in the 2013 season as he recovers from multiple offseason surgeries to repair his back and forearm. After re-injuring his arm last season, Gronkowski is being extra cautious in his return from injury this time around.
All accounts have been that Gronkowski is dominating in practice and seems to be ready to play. This week was looking like Gronkowski's best shot to return to the lineup after his team of doctors cleared him to play. He's still officially listed as questionable on the Patriots injury report and will likely be a game time decision.
Without Gronkowski the Patriots' offense has been without a top receiving option and hasn't looked the same thus far in 2013.
