Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

The Rams' middle linebacker opted against playing into the defensive cliche of mocking Cam Newton.

Defensive players routinely take shots at Newton's celebration, as the Panthers have a sub-500 record with him at quarterback, but Laurinaitis instead decided to let his play do the talking. The Rams have held Newton to 49 yards passing, sacking the Panthers' quarterback twice.
