Packers vs. Vikings 2013 picks and predictions: Experts side with Green Bay on the road

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

NFL experts are making their picks for the Packers and Vikings game in Week 8.

The Vikings will host the Packers in Week 8. While Green Bay is coming off a win against the Browns, the Vikings are a putrid 1-5 after losing to the lowly Giants. The Vikings starting quarterback from Week 7, Josh Freeman, is likely to miss the game, and Christian Ponder will fill his spot in the lineup on Sunday.

The Packers are viewed as 7.5-point favorites on the road against the Vikings. The spread did not affect the CBS Sports panel's picks. An 8-0 sweep for the Packers, both with and without the spread, was voted on by their analysts. Yahoo! Sports' crew is also strongly behind the Packers with a 2-0 tally.

The SB Nation panel of five is also a full-go with Green Bay with a vote of 5-0. With all three media outlets, that brings the Packers vote to 15-0.

The Vikings will host the Packers on Sunday Night Football at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
