The Denver Broncos started the first half strong, but the Washington Redskins finished the half with a lengthy scoring drive and the two teams are tied, 7-7, heading into the second half of their Week 8 matchup.
The Broncos defense held tight for a while, too. But on the final series of the first half for Washington, Robert Griffin III threw a touchdown to wide receiver Leonard Hankerson to tie the game up. Griffin avoided pressure in the pocket and zipped the pass into the end zone with ease, capping off a long Washington drive. The Broncos hoped a flag on the play would negate the penalty, but it was for defensive holding.
With just seven points at halftime, this is Denver's weakest first-half showing of the season thus far.
