NFL picks and predictions 2013, Jets vs. Falcons: Atlanta favored big at home against New York

Scott Cunningham

The NFL expert around the web are making their picks for Monday Night Football's Jets and Falcons matchup.

The Falcons will host the Jets in Week 5 on Monday Night Football. The 1-3 Falcons are coming off a loss to the Patriots and their season has not gone as predicted. With a surplus of injuries and poor play, Atlanta has sunk into a hole in the standings. The Falcons will look to rebound against the inconsistent Jets, who are also coming off a loss in Week 4. New York fell victim to a blowout loss to the Titans to fall to 2-2.

Despite their records, the Falcons are listed as 9.5-point favorites against the Jets at home. The CBS panel of eight is split against the spread with a 5-3 vote in favor of Atlanta. However, when picking straight up, all eight believe the Falcons will defeat the Jets in Week 5. The Yahoo Sports panel of two also gives it to the Falcons in a sweep.

Much like with both CBS Sports and Yahoo Sports, SB Nation's staff all believes that Atlanta will win on Monday night.

The Falcons will host the Jets on Monday Night Football on ESPN at 8:40 p.m. ET.
