Michael Vick injury: Eagles QB could miss 2 weeks, per report

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

Michael Vick could miss the next two weeks with a hamstring injury he suffered Sunday, giving Nick Foles in opportunity to shine as the Eagles' starting quarterback.

Michael Vick is likely to miss Week 6 for the Philadelphia Eagles against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and could miss Week 7 as well because of a hamstring injury he suffered during Sunday's win against the New York GiantsHoward Eskin of Philadelphia Fox 29 reported the prognosis, saying that Vick is set to undergo an MRI on Monday that should give a better idea of the quarterback's timetable for return.

Vick went down during the second quarter. He pulled up limping on a scamper just before halftime, but managed to finish out the drive to lead the Eagles to a field goal. Vick was able to return to the field on the Eagles' ensuing possession as well, but left for good after taking a big hit as he threw the ball away from his own end zone.

Nick Foles took over the offense and performed admirably, going 16-for-25 for 197 yards and two touchdowns. He outshined Vick passing the ball, but Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said after the game that Vick will remain the team's starting quarterback as long as he is healthy. If Vick is forced to sit next week and beyond, Foles will have a real opportunity to change Kelly's stance.
