Locker's season is over after suffering a Lisfranc injury.

The Tennessee Titans have officially placed quarterback Jake Locker on injured reserve, ending his season. The team has not yet made a move to take his empty roster spot.

Locker's season is over after suffering a Lisfranc injury in Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The injury occurred while he was handing the ball off, with no defenders touching him. Surgery will be required on his foot, although the team has not decided on a schedule yet. Ryan Fitzpatrick will remain the starter for the final seven games, with Rusty Smith backing him up.

Locker's three-year NFL career has been derailed by injuries. He also missed five games last season with a fractured shoulder and sat out two games this year with a hip and knee injury. The Titans now have to decide if they still want to commit to him as the franchise quarterback. He's entering the final year of his rookie contract and has an option for 2015. Locker will be due $2.09 million in 2014.
