The Atlanta Falcons are set to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in an NFC South matchup that has very little divisional relevance, surprisingly. Atlanta (2-7) isn't competing with the New Orleans Saints for the division lead as they were expected to, while Tampa Bay (1-8) has been one of the worst teams in the league thus far this season.
Atlanta has collapsed like no other, given that they were expected to fight for a spot in the Super Bowl this season. They've now lost three consecutive games, but stand a solid chance to pick up a win this week. That said, the Buccaneers picked up their first win of the season in Week 10, besting the Miami Dolphins, 22-19.
Obviously, beating the Dolphins isn't a huge deal, but they've won more recently than the Falcons, for whatever that is worth.
Still, the Falcons opened up as 2.5-point favorites in this matchup, according to OddsShark. However, odds makers aren't exactly confident, and the line has narrowed throughout the week. Some sites have them favored by 1.5 points, while a couple have them as low as 1-point favorites. It seems home-field advantage for Tampa Bay is playing something of a factor.
The over/under opened at 43.5 points and is right around that mark on most sites. That total has gone under in four of Atlanta's last five games on the road, and over in all five of Tampa Bay's last five games.
