The stands of Soldier Field have being evacuated as serious storm approaches Sunday's game between the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens. Fans are being advised over the stadium PA to move to the nearest covered concourse and remain there as a precaution.
Update: According to ESPN's Jon Clayton the earliest Sunday's game will resume is 3 p.m. ET.
Initially it was believed the storm would pass by, but conditions have deteriorated fast at Soldier Field. Players remained on the field stretching and standing on the sidelines, which prompted some fans to remain in their seats despite being asked to leave. After a few minutes the field was vacated and both teams went to their respective locker rooms.
The NFL has announced that Sunday's game will be temporarily suspended while the storm passes over, and have announced the game will resume in 30 minutes, provided the weather clears over enough to resume play. Television crews have also left the field under the advisement of the Solider Field ground crew.
