Reed suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He has been unable to clear the league's concussion protocol and did not practice at all this week. He is tentatively expected to return in Week 13 against the New York Giants.
Reed's loss will be a major blow to the Redskins' passing game, who already lost Leonard Hankerson for the season with a knee injury. The rookie tight end is enjoying a breakout season, hauling in 45 catches for 499 yards and three touchdowns in nine games. Veteran Fred Davis lost the starting job to Reed and has been a healthy scratch for most games, but he should be active for Monday's game. Robert Griffin III will be short on weapons this week with Washington's playoff hopes hanging by a thread.
