Matt Flynn to start for Packers against Lions in Week 13

The Packers will be in with Flynn at the starting quarterback spot on Thanksgiving.

The Packers have made a decision on their starting quarterback for their Thanksgiving Day game against the Lions. Head coach Mike McCarthy plans to start Matt Flynn, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. Flynn was re-signed prior to Week 12 and closed the game against the Vikings, which ended in a 26-26 tie.

Flynn has been on three different teams this season and four in the last year. The Seahawks traded Flynn to the Raiders, who cut him midseason. He then signed with the Bills, who cut him after a few games and then he signed with the Packers. Flynn went 21 of 36 for 218 yards and a touchdown in his return to the Packers against the Vikings in Week 12 in Green Bay.

Scott Tolzien will be the backup to Flynn on Thursday. He was benched for Flynn against Minnesota.

The Lions host the Packers on Thanksgiving at 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
