Jason Campbell injury: Browns QB believes bruised ribs will be OK after bye week

Jason Miller

Cleveland appears to have dodged a bullet with Campbell not thinking he will miss any time.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Jason Campbell sustained bruised ribs in Sunday's 24-18 win over the Baltimore Ravens, but does not expect to be out for any time, per CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora.

Campbell has sparked the Browns' offense after it was dormant under former first round pick Brandon Weeden. In the last two games, Campbell has thrown for five touchdowns and more than 550 yards combined against Baltimore and the Kansas City Chiefs.

In his eight-year career, Campbell has played for the Washington Redskins, Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears before this season, completing 60.9 percent of his passes and throwing for 81 touchdowns against 52 interceptions.

The Browns have a well-timed bye week coming in Week 10 before hitting the stretch run at 4-5, but in a very winnable AFC North. Cleveland trails the Cincinnati Bengals by two games in the division but has already beaten them once and plays them again Week 11.
