Ravens vs. Lions 2013 picks and predictions: Detroit favored in critical game

The Ravens and Lions face off in a critical Monday Night Football game with playoff potential, but pundits don't have a lot of faith in the visitors.

Baltimore and Detroit are two dangerous vertical passing teams that have both been inconsistent in 2013. Now the 7-6 teams face a must-win scenario to keep their playoff hopes alive, and there isn't a lot of faith in the visiting Ravens.

The panel of experts over at ESPN are unanimous -- believing in a Lions sweep. Wide receiver Calvin Johnson will have plenty of motivation after being called "old" by Ravens rookie safety Matt Elam. Baltimore escaped a near-loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 14, which likely weighs on the minds of pickers in contrast to Detroit's loss in the snow to Philadelphia.

It's a different story over on CBS. Their pundits are siding with the Ravens to shake off their recent struggles and show their playoff potential on Sunday. Five of their eight experts are picking Baltimore, but picks leader Will Brinson is siding with Detroit victory.

Fox is leaning toward the thinking on ESPN. Three of the four analysts are picking a Detroit victory on Sunday, which will be made easier if Reggie Bush is able to play. He missed practice on Thursday, but should be able to play.

Here at SB Nation, five of our six editors are siding with Detroit. NFL editor Ryan Van Bibber is picking the Ravens, but the rest of the panel are siding with the Lions to bounce back at home away from the icy weather than derailed their passing attack in Philadelphia.
