Jets vs. Dolphins 2013 picks and predictions: Miami faces tough matchup with playoffs on the line

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

NFL experts are making their picks for the Week 17 matchup between the Jets and Dolphins.

The Dolphins will host the Jets in a game that means the world for their playoff hopes. Miami needs a win against New York at home to gain the final wild card spot. The Dolphins are coming off a horrible loss to the Bills in Week 16, while the Jets are coming off a win against the Browns. The Jets can play spoiler if they beat Miami on Sunday.

Because of the Dolphins' home-field advantage and playoff push, CBS Sports favors them by 6.5 points. For CBS Sports panel, it is a split 4-4 vote with the spread. The vote also stays at 4-4 with a straight up pick, so the spread really has little impact on the panelists.

The Showtime "Inside the NFL" crew votes 2-1 in favor of Miami. Cris Collinsworth and Phil Simms picked the Dolphins, while guest analyst Franco Harris took the Jets.

Among SB Nation experts, Joel Thorman, Jason Chilton, Stephen White and David Fucillo picked the Dolphins, while Ryan Van Bibber went with New York.
