It seems as though Derek Carr's favorite target at Fresno State will be following him to the professional ranks. Wide receiver Davante Adams, a first-team SB Nation All-American and the nation's leader in receptions and receiving touchdowns and second in receiving yards, is expected to declare for the 2014 NFL Draft, according to Jeremy Fowler of CBS Sports.
The redshirt sophomore reportedly told a school official this week that he will enter the draft, despite the fact that his NFL Draft advisory grade has not yet come in. He is rated by SB Nation's Mocking the Draft as the No. 13 wide receiver in this year's draft class.
After the numbers he's posted this season, it doesn't take much of an expert to know the 6'2, 216-pound Adams has serious pro potential. He led all receivers with 131 catches, 1,718 yards and 24 touchdowns even though Fresno missed a game this season due to a weather cancellation. He had nine receptions for 73 yards and a score against USC in the Las Vegas Bowl last Saturday.
