Raiders vs. Jets 2013 picks and predictions: Experts divided on Week 14 matchup

The Oakland Raiders will face the New York Jets in Week 14, and the experts are somewhat divided on who will emerge victorious.

The New York Jets are set to take on the Oakland Raiders in a Week 14 matchup on Sunday. Oakland (4-8) is well out of the running for the AFC West, though it was actually still in the running for the wild card a week ago. However, it seems unlikely there will be a spot for the Raiders in the end. New York (5-7) was doing well for a time, but rookie quarterback Geno Smith just can't keep up at this stage of the game, and the Jets seem unlikely to make a push for a wild card spot.

New York has lost its last three games, only managing to put up 20 points altogether in that span. Its opponents managed to put up 79 points in those three games. New York's last game was a 23-3 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Oakland has lost its last two games, though both have been competitive. Week 12 saw the Raiders fall to the Tennessee Titans, 23-19, and Week 13 a loss to the Dallas Cowboys, 31-24.

Predictably, the experts haven't reached much of a consensus when it comes to this one. Of SB Nation's panel of six experts, three picked the Raiders (Joel Thorman, Jason Chilton, David Fucillo) and three picked the Jets (Matt Ufford, Stephen White, Ryan Van Bibber).

Over at CBS Sports, it's a similar spread, but it favors the Raiders slightly. New York was picked by three of the eight experts, while the other five picked the Raiders to win it on the road. Pete Prisco was one notable picking New York, while Jason La Canfora and Will Brinson notably picked the Raiders.
