The New York Giants have been officially eliminated from the playoffs, but San Diego still has an outside shot -- provided the team wins this week. Philip Rivers is playing excellent football, but finding a backdoor from third in the AFC West is easier said than done.

More on the matchup: Eli Manning and Philip Rivers used to be a much-publicized quarterback matchup, but it's now two veterans who have had varying degrees of success on their respective teams. They last met in 2009 when Rivers threw three touchdown passes in a 21-20 Chargers win. The Chargers quarterback has been a victim of circumstance in 2013. His team is vastly improved, and he's playing great football -- but stuck in a division with Peyton Manning and the resurgent Chiefs have put them behind.
