Choice, who was released by the Buffalo Bills last week, will fill Rainey's role as the third-string back behind Donald Brown and Trent Richardson. He had 35 carries for 126 yards this season in in a similar role in Buffalo, where he spent the past two years. He was originally drafted in the fourth round in 2008 by the Cowboys and spent his first three seasons in Dallas.
Rainey played mostly on special teams, and its unlikely that Choice will be much more involved in the offense. That being said, there are plenty of carries to go around in Chuck Pagano's power running system, especially if Richardson -- who the Colts gave up a first-round pick for earlier this season -- continues his disappointing performance.
