Leslie Frazier, Vikings agree to contract extension

According to sources, the Minnesota Vikings and head coach Leslie Frazier have come to terms on a contract extension.

On Wednesday, February 13, 2013, the Minnesota Vikings agreed to a contract extension with head coach Leslie Frazier. The deal is reportedly a "multi-year extension" that will keep the head coach in the Twin Cities for at least a few more years.

The Vikings have battled hard since Frazier replaced former head coach Brad Childress two seasons ago.

The organization was in disarray, making desperate decisions in the free agency and the draft; like bringing in a 40-year-old Brett Favre, for instance. But with Frazier, the train seems to finally be back on the tracks.

Under his direction, this team has been highly competitive week-to-week and finally made the postseason. In 2012, they finished with a surprising 10-6 record, plowing through a tough NFC North division where the Packers, Bears and Lions all reside.

For quite some, Minnesota has been bullied, but now they have recently asserted themselves.

Even though this team is still building, ownership appears to agree with the direction they are headed. By rewarding Frazier with a multi-year contract, it becomes clear that they appreciate the head coach's bravado and the mentality instilled within this franchise.
