The former Colts defensive end is already drawing buzz as potentially the best free agent pass rusher available this offseason.
Despite coming off the worst season of his career, Dwight Freeney is already getting attention from around the league. Freeney was recently released by the Colts and is expected to draw significant interest as a free agent from teams looking for a pass rushing defensive end.

The 33-year-old had only five sacks last season, but many are attributing that to a season-long ankle injury and a poor fit as an outside linebacker in the Colts new 3-4 scheme. There are several defensive ends scheduled to become free agents, but it is expected that some of the top names will be franchised or re-signed before free agency begins. According to Peter King of Sports Illustrated at least one general manager has said that Freeney has leapfrogged Osi Umenyiora on the list of available defensive ends.
Freeney has 107.5 sacks and seven Pro Bowl selections in his 11 year career and still possesses the skills and athleticism needed to be a disruptive pass rusher.
