Percy Harvin makes life a lot easier for Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder, who hopes the wide receiver will return to Minnesota for the 2013 season.
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder knows that Percy Harvin makes his job a lot easier and hopes the wide receiver will return to the Vikings in 2013. Ponder appeared of KFAN radio in Minneapolis to discuss the Vikings and when the topic turned to Harvin, Ponder was clear he wanted his top receiver back, "Obviously we want Percy back. He's a tremendous player and he's a Viking. And those are tough shoes to fill and we don't want to fill them."
Harvin wants a new contract and has threatened to hold out if he doesn't receive a new deal that makes him one of the highes-paid receivers in the NFL. And despite several rumored trading partners, Vikings general manager Rick Spielman has made it clear that he has "no intent" of trading Harvin.

In 2012 Harvin was limited to just nine games and injuries have been a concern throughout his career. Still, when he was on the field he was productive with 62 receptions for 677 yards and three touchdowns. Harvin also contributed in the running game, with 22 carries for 96 yards and a touchdown, and as a return man, he averaged 35.9 yards per kickoff return with one touchdown.
Harvin is scheduled to make $2.9 million with bonuses that could raise his contract to $4.03 million in 2013. He is seeking a raise to over $10 million per year, a high number for a receiver with Harvin's durability concerns. If no new contract is reached, Harvin is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2013 season.
