There was no practice on Saturday; just a short walkthrough for the 49ers. Even though he is unlikely to take a snap in the Super Bowl, Alex Smith can't help but feel nervous. Nervous for his team and for himself.
He turns up the volume on his iPod.
He's been waiting his whole life to make it here, but he thought it would be very different. Now he's just trying to do the best he can. He'll get through this, win or lose. Either way, he has a lot to be thankful for. Still though, he's hoping he guesses the coin toss right. You just can't beat a free Papa John's pizza.
