Tennessee Titans tight end Brandon Barden was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with driving under the influence. Barden was in a single-car accident in which he drove his car into a ditch drain in his hometown of Lincolnton, Ga., according to The Tennessean's Jim Wyatt.
The police officer that responded to the accident could smell the "strong odor of alcohol" on Barden, who refused field sobriety testing, roadside Alco-Sensor testing as well as state chemical testing, according to the report. Barden was charged on refusal shortly after. He was then released on bond.
Barden, who signed as an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt before the 2012 season, played in Weeks 15, 16 and 17 for the Titans in 2012, but accumulated no stats.
According to Wyatt, a Titans team official said they are still "gathering facts" about the incident.
