Good defense, a good punt return and a Frank Gore touchdown run have cut the Ravens' lead to 28-20.
Look out, the San Francisco 49ers are alive! After cutting the Baltimore Ravens' lead to 15, the 49ers forced a punt, returned a punt to the 20-yard line and have now found the end zone again to make it a 28-20 game. We have ourselves a ballgame.
The drive was set up by the defense, which got a third down sack and forced Baltimore to punt from their own goal line. It was a bad punt and gave Ted Ginn Jr. space, which he took advantage of, returning the punt to the Ravens' 20.
With just 20 yards to go, the 49ers were in business, and it only took them two plays to put it in for six. First, Colin Kaepernick found Vernon Davis for 14 yards then he gave the ball to Frank Gore on a sweep. Delanie Walker did a great job sealing the edge and allowed Gore to walk into the end zone for the touchdown.
All of a sudden, what looked like a Ravens cakewalk is a battle again, and Mr. Momentum is clearly on the 49ers' sideline.
