The Cardinals are in search of a running back and reportedly have significant interest in soon-to-be free agent Reggie Bush.
After releasing running back Beanie Wells on Monday, the Arizona Cardinals could be in the free agent market for a running back. Arizona has shown significant interest in free agent Reggie Bush, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
The 28-year-old Bush is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent after two seasons in Miami. Bush rushed for 2,072 yards during his two years with the Dolphins, but isn't expected to return to Miami next season. After releasing Wells, the Cardinals are likely to acquire a running back in either free agency or the NFL Draft. LaRod Stepehns-Howling is also a free agent and Ryan Williams is returning from a season-ending injury. Bush proved he was capable of handling a heavier workload in Miami, but could also pair with Williams if he is able to return from injury.
While Bush may be a good fit for the Cardinals, they won't be the only team in pursuit. The Detroit Lions have long been rumored to be interested in Bush and are also expected to pursue him aggressively.
