Darius Butler signed by Colts, per report

Butler will reportedly remain in Indianapolis for two more years.

The Indianapolis Colts and cornerback Darius Butler have agreed on a new two-year deal, according to a tweet from ProFootballTalk on Tuesday.

Signed as a free agent by the Colts early into the 2012 regular season, Butler played in 11 games in the Indianapolis secondary. During that time he tallied four interceptions and a forced fumble, scoring two touchdowns to boot and getting named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week after picking off two passes and recovering his lone fumble of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10.

Butler also recorded 31 combined tackles and eight passes defensed for the Colts in 2012.

A three-year veteran out of Connecticut, Butler played in 13 games for the Carolina Panthers in 2011 before getting waived prior to the start of the 2012 regular season. He was drafted in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots.
