The Arizona Cardinals have signed veteran linebacker Jasper Brinkley, according to Mark Dalton, the team's VP of media relations. The details of the contract have not been made available at this time.
Coming off a career-high 99 tackles, Brinkley adds an interior linebacker to Bruce Arians' defense. Starting 15 games for the Minnesota Vikings in 2012, he had signature games against excellent competition — totaling 13 tackles against the Seattle Seahawks, and adding another 13 against Chicago later in the season.
In their 3-4 defense, Brinkley figures to compete with veteran Paris Lenon for the starting job. It marks another signing in an already impressive free agent haul for the Cardinals, who added Rashard Mendenhall, Lorenzo Alexander, and Josh Cribbs this week.
