Revis has been widely speculated as trade bait since the offseason began in February, with many experts believing he will eventually be dealt to a team willing to give Revis a major contract extension.
The former All-Pro corner has made it clear he is unhappy with his current deal. However, it's never easy to trade a player coming off a torn ACL injury.
Should Revis stay with New York and play out the contract, he is likely to leave the Jets and leave them holding the bag. Knowing this, the team is forced to either spend a mint on keeping Revis or send him packing to the highest bidder.
New York is unwilling to pay Revis big money because of its bloated cap situation and will be doing everything it can to move him before June 1. If Revis is on the Jets by that date, he will have a $9 million cap hit in 2014 along with a $5 million this year.
