Colts rumors: Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin could be Indianapolis target

Colts owner Jim Irsay revealed that he's still looking to add a wide receiver to the roster. Seattle's Doug Baldwin may be one of the names available in a trade.

The Indianapolis Colts are looking to add another receiver to the roster. One of the players they're targeting could be Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Owner Jim Irsay started up the rumor mill late Saturday, tweeting "ColtFans, we already past the cap cash wise/ we're working on a deal, 1 we've been workin on for 5 days/ we're very, very close 2 making it work". He later revealed that the team was targeting a wide receiver.

The Seahawks haven't indicated that Baldwin is available in a trade, but the Star connects some dots. He has ties to Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton and played with Andrew Luck at Stanford. As an undrafted free agent, Baldwin caught 51 balls for 788 yards and four touchdowns in 2011. Last season, he struggled with injuries and finished with just 29 receptions, 366 yards and three touchdowns.

With Percy Harvin now in the fold, Baldwin may end up being expendable. If Seattle does decide to unload him, they shouldn't get much more than a Day 3 draft pick in return.
