The Darrelle Revis trade saga continues to drag out, but we may seem some closure to the situation in the coming month. Sports Illustrated's Peter King believes Revis will be traded the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the NFL Draft officially begins this April.
Tampa Bay emerged as the front-runner for Revis earlier this month. New York Jets general manager John Idzik apparently hasn't been clear on what he wants in return for his star corner, though, leading negotiations to stall and Revis to wonder where he'll actually be playing in 2013.
Ultimately, King thinks Revis heads to Tampa in exchange for two high draft picks. The Bucs might be willing to give upa first and second-round pick. New York might accept future selections for 2014 as well. Trading one of the league's best corners isn't an ideal prospect, but Idzik knows he needs to get compensation for Revis before he leaves town on his own.
The Bucs don't seem thrilled with the current market for cornerbacks. Assuming they don't land anyone soon, the Revis deal makes more sense every day.
